Back from YLTC
2:39 PM
Woohoo~ I'm back. 5 days of camp is like wow. At the first few days, it was like "Time pass DAMN slowly". However, upon reaching the last 2 days or so "Wow, so fast the 2nd last/last day already". The first day was really mad. Nj must be trying to save money. No transport there. So u play amazing race around singapore to get to our campsite. Firstly, we went to chinese garden. While we were there, there was a heavy downpour. And we had to run back to the mrt in this heavy downpour. Then to khatib, then to vivo, to sentosa, east coast food centre and then a 5km walk from the food centre to our campsite with our heavy bags. Leadership talk at night. And lights off.........
Had to wake up at 7 in the morning the 2nd day and had PT at 745. Did 100 sets of 8 jumping jacks and other stuffs. Proceeded for rafting after breakfast and dragonboat after lunch. Dinner, and then night cycling for 42km. They were trailing at this speed of 10km/h. Zzzzz. That was freaking slow. It was like step ur pedals 4 times, stop 2 secs kind of thing. haha. Towards the last 10km, i think the speed increased to 13km/h or so. Haha. And i was forever beside the instructor because no overtaking and it was boring. So i was talking to him about bike stuffs throughout the whole thing. Wow, he is an adventure person. Participating in adventure races. Like hiking, cycling on mountain trails, sea sports etc. So lights off after that.
Same time for pt on the 3rd day. but its more intense, jumping jacks plus running and a bit of push up. Had kayaking after breakfast till the evening. Wash up, talked about our skid etc and grabbed dinner and had a alumni talk. Then lights off...
Same time for pt, even more intense. More running, more pushups, more jumping jack. And then we started rope course and some other kind of game activities for the whole day. And then prepare for campfire night. Campfire night was alright, but it was a bit too short. Yup.
We heard from the people who went for the previous camp that they will wake u up at 3am the next morning to run. So i didn't take out my contacts, wore it and slept for 3.5 hours. True enough, at 250, when i was feeling damn cold and wanted to hide in the sleeping bag, i heard footsteps. Then the teacher walked in and on our lights and say get up get up. It was a final challenge or something. So the group with the highest point accumulated throughout the camp have a headstart and then it follows. so the last will definetely start like 20minutes later. Ok, so for the first day, my group was leading. Like we got 2 full marks, straight away thrashing the other groups. Then, the rest of the days, we were just pure shit. And then we dropped to the last. And we started last. But that doesn't end there. From last, we were able to catch up to be the 4th to reach back from the 10km run. But the 7th group was more imba. They reach back 2nd, but the first group had one member dropout, which is a 2min penalty making the 7th group the first. It was not really tiring after u start running. U get hyped up and no one felt like sleeping. However, when it was breakfast time, woah, u started feeling drowsy. Haha. Yeah, so we didn't sleep. We had breakfast, packed our bags, then bring it down, and started washing the whole campsite. The bunks, the canteen, the toilets.
A pretty good experience after all...
